Clicks Communicator shipments to start in December as price rises to $649
The BlackBerry-inspired device will launch with upgraded memory and battery capacity, though the cost will increase by $150 from its original listing.

Gadget maker Clicks has confirmed that shipments of its debut smartphone, the Clicks Communicator, will commence in December. The launch follows nearly a year since the device was first revealed at CES 2026, marking the arrival of a phone designed as a modern homage to the classic BlackBerry.
The final version of the Communicator includes several specification upgrades over the original announcement. The device will now ship with 12GB of RAM, an increase from the previously stated 8GB. Battery capacity has also been expanded from 4,000mAh to 4,350mAh, with a rating for more than 800 charge cycles.
Under the hood, the phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chip and includes 256GB of internal storage with microSD expansion. It features a 4.03-inch, 120Hz AMOLED display positioned above a physical keyboard. The keyboard is touch-sensitive, allowing users to swipe for navigation, while the spacebar functions as a dedicated fingerprint sensor.
The device will run Android 17 out of the box, with software support extending through Android 20 and five years of security updates. Clicks offers various keyboard layouts, including QWERTY, AZERTY, QWERTZ, Korean, and Arabic. The phone also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and features a 50MP rear camera and a 24MP front-facing camera.
Clicks positions the Communicator as a "second phone" intended for messages and calls rather than a direct competitor to flagship smartphones. The company describes it as a new kind of mobile communicator, acknowledging that the squareish aspect ratio and mid-range processor may not suit every user or application.
Despite the spec improvements, the price of the device will increase from $499 to $649 on 1 October. Customers can still reserve the phone at the original price, with options to configure colours, keyboard layouts, and charging covers.
