Enquirer names Cincinnati high school athletes of the week, May 22
Publication discontinues physical mailings following delivery complaints; winners from Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Indiana named for week ending May 17

The Cincinnati Enquirer, in partnership with Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, has announced its 2025-2026 Athletes of the Week for high school sports, with the reader vote concluding on May 22. The selections recognise athletic achievements across Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Indiana, covering action through May 17. The awards span a wide range of disciplines, including baseball, softball, flag football, lacrosse, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

In a significant procedural change, the publication has discontinued the mailing of physical certificates to schools. This decision follows feedback indicating that families were not receiving the physical mailings. Instead, digital copies of all certificates will be made available to families by 8 a.m. on the Monday following the Friday announcement. Families can access the PDFs through a public Dropbox link provided by the Enquirer.

The winners were selected by Cincinnati.com readers based on their performances during the week. The recognitions include individual athletes and teams from various districts. In baseball, Turpin was named the Ohio big-school team winner, while Summit Country Day took the small-school title. Conner was recognised as the Northern Kentucky/Indiana baseball team winner. Individual honours went to Max Kimble of Milford, Lucas Reder of Summit Country Day, Gabe Goodridge of Boone County, and K.J. Nussbaum of Lloyd Memorial.

Softball recognitions included Walnut Hills as the Ohio big-school team winner, Goshen as the small-school winner, and Dayton as the Northern Kentucky/Indiana winner. Individual softball awards were presented to Caiden Baird of Harrison, Karli Campbell of Goshen, and Savannah Cluxton of Boone County. Other notable individual winners included Addy Vaughan in flag football, Jake Holleran and Cole Grimes in boys lacrosse, and Emerson Werden and Emily Forbes in girls lacrosse.

Tennis and track and field winners were also announced, with Tyler Lammers, Adam Klaus, and Jack O’Neil among the tennis honourees. Trenton McIntosh, Dylan Topmiller, Kylie Carp, and Jasmine Cozmanciuc were recognised in track and field. Nolan Stacey was named the Ohio boys volleyball winner. The Enquirer has requested that families email photos of the printed certificates and winners to [email protected] for inclusion in a photo gallery.
