Celtics seek third Summer League win against Kings in Las Vegas
The NBA Summer League fixture at the Thomas & Mack Center features key roster evaluations for both franchises ahead of the new season.

The Boston Celtics are set to face the Sacramento Kings in an NBA Summer League match at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on Wednesday. Boston is aiming to secure its third victory of the tournament under the guidance of head coach Amile Jefferson. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
Jefferson has overseen a positive start for the Celtics in the off-season evaluation circuit. The team’s recent form includes a win against Charlotte and a subsequent loss to Atlanta. During the defeat to Atlanta, veteran guard Derrick White temporarily assumed coaching duties, having previously led the squad to victory against the Hornets.
Second-round draft pick Dillon Mitchell delivered a strong performance in the win against Charlotte, recording 24 points and eight rebounds. However, the rookie forward struggled to replicate that output in the 102-90 loss to Atlanta. Mitchell is expected to play a pivotal role in Boston’s attempt to maintain momentum against Sacramento.
The Sacramento Kings, coached by Chris Darnell, bring a different set of evaluative challenges. Second-year player Maxime Raynaud has drawn attention for his recent performance in a loss to Washington. Point guard prospect Darius Acuff Jr, who was the top scorer in the California Classic league during the off-season, is also expected to feature prominently.
The match represents a standard fixture in the NBA Summer League schedule, a platform designed for teams to assess talent and refine strategies. Both organisations are using the tournament to gauge player development and tactical cohesion before the regular season begins.
