New offensive coordinator and key acquisitions shape expectations for Los Angeles

CBS Sports analyst Jamey Eisenberg has released a comprehensive fantasy football preview for the Los Angeles Rams ahead of the 2026 season, identifying quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Kyren Williams, and wide receiver Davante Adams as the team's primary fantasy assets. The report comes as the organisation prepares for a new era under offensive coordinator Nate Scheelhaase, who replaces Mike LaFleur, and following the acquisition of cornerback Trent McDuffie from Kansas City.

Stafford enters the 2026 season carrying the momentum of an NFL MVP campaign in 2025, where he averaged a league-best 26.1 fantasy points per game with 46 passing touchdowns. Despite concerns regarding his age, Eisenberg projects Stafford as a low-end number one fantasy option, noting his ability to produce high upside alongside receivers Puka Nacua and Adams under head coach Sean McVay. The Rams are projected to lead the NFL in scoring with 518 points and passing yards with 4,557 in 2026.

Williams is characterised as a reliable low-end number one or high-end number two running back, having averaged at least 15.5 points per reception for three consecutive seasons. While he will share touches with Blake Corum, who recorded 746 yards and six touchdowns in 2025, Williams is expected to remain the primary goal-line back. Eisenberg suggests Williams offers significant value in the third round of drafts, whereas Corum is viewed as a high-upside lottery ticket for flex positions.

Adams, who led the NFL with 14 touchdown receptions in 14 games during 2025, faces scrutiny regarding potential regression. The analysis points out that Adams averaged just 9.3 points per reception in games without a touchdown, raising questions about his consistency at age 33. Eisenberg advises drafting Adams as a low-end number two receiver, cautioning that his production may decline if his touchdown rate does not sustain previous levels.

The Rams’ roster construction for 2026 includes significant draft investments, with the selection of quarterback Ty Simpson in the first round, tight end Max Klare in the second, and wide receiver CJ Daniels in the sixth. Following a loss to Seattle in the NFC Championship Game for Super Bowl LX, the team is projected to win the NFC West, with a strength of schedule ranked 13th in the league.
