Fantasy Baseball Week 11 Preview: Top 10 sleeper pitchers include Ben Brown, Cade Cavalli
Scott White’s latest preview highlights streaming options available in less than 80 per cent of leagues

CBS Sports analyst Scott White has released a comprehensive preview for Fantasy Baseball Week 11, covering the scoring period from 1 to 7 June. The analysis identifies ten pitchers classified as "sleepers," all of whom are currently rostered in fewer than 80 per cent of CBS Sports leagues. The report provides a structured breakdown of streaming options for managers seeking to stabilise their pitching rotations during a critical phase of the season.

The primary strategy outlined in the preview prioritises pitchers facing lower-scoring or historically struggling offensive teams. White notes that while only the top two or three recommendations constitute full-throated endorsements, the remaining selections are designed to help managers make the best of difficult situations. The list includes Ben Brown, Cade Cavalli, Jared Jones, Walbert Urena, Andrew Abbott, Aaron Nola, Bubba Chandler, Jameson Taillon, Michael McGreevy, and Griffin Jax.

Among the recommendations, Ben Brown of the Chicago Cubs presents a compelling case for managers seeking ground-ball specialists. Rostered in 71 per cent of leagues, Brown is extended to throw five to six innings and faces the San Francisco Giants, who are identified as the league’s lowest-scoring offence. Similarly, Walbert Urena of the Los Angeles Angels, available in just 30 per cent of leagues, offers a strong chance for a win due to his ability to limit damage against the Colorado Rockies away from Coors Field.

For managers utilising points leagues, the preview highlights volume plays such as Aaron Nola of the Philadelphia Phillies and Jameson Taillon of the Chicago Cubs. Nola, rostered in 67 per cent of leagues, faces a favourable matchup against the San Diego Padres, while Taillon, available in 55 per cent of leagues, takes on the Oakland Athletics and Giants. Both pitchers are noted for their potential to deliver quality starts despite recent inconsistencies or higher-risk profiles in categories formats.

The analysis also addresses pitchers returning from injury or showing recent improvement, such as Jared Jones of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bubba Chandler, also of the Pirates. Jones, available in 74 per cent of leagues, is monitored closely following his return from UCL surgery, while Chandler has shown improved strike-throwing ability. The preview concludes by advising managers to verify roster availability and check for late-breaking updates, particularly regarding player injuries such as Griffin Jax’s back bruise, before finalising their lineups for the week.
