2026 RBC Canadian Open predictions, preview: Tommy Fleetwood, Sam Burns look to maintain momentum
Injury concerns and form checks define field ahead of major championship

The 2026 RBC Canadian Open is scheduled to take place from June 11 to 14 at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ontario, Canada. The tournament, which features a purse of $9,800,000, serves as a critical preparatory event for the upcoming U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. This marks the second consecutive season the event has been held at this venue, following Nick Taylor’s victory in 2025.

The field includes a significant contingent of international talent, with a notable presence of English players including Matt Fitzpatrick, Alex Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, and PGA Championship winner Aaron Rai. Tommy Fleetwood enters the competition in strong form after finishing as runner-up at the Memorial Tournament. Fleetwood also holds historical context at the upcoming U.S. Open, having been the runner-up at Shinnecock Hills in 2018.

American golfer Sam Burns is also seeking momentum following his performance at the Memorial, aiming to secure his first win of the season. Burns previously lost a playoff at this venue in 2025 to Ryan Fox and contended at the 2023 U.S. Open at Oakmont. His participation adds to the depth of competitors looking to build confidence before the major championship.

However, injury concerns loom over parts of the field. Viktor Hovland reportedly withdrew from the Memorial Tournament due to a back injury, while Collin Morikawa is managing a similar issue that has affected his performance despite a strong start to the season. Health updates on both players will be closely monitored as the tournament begins.

Former U.S. Open champions Brooks Koepka and Wyndham Clark are confirmed to compete, alongside other European players such as Kristoffer Reitan, Robert MacIntyre, Alex Noren, and Shane Lowry. The event is set at par 70, spanning 7,389 yards, and offers a final opportunity for players to refine their game before the third major of the season.
