Pratt remains on the 10-day injured list, creating a significant gap in the middle infield during a critical matchup against the top two teams in the National League.

In response to the roster constraints, the Brewers adjusted their starting lineup for the opener. Gary Sánchez was moved to first base and Andrew Vaughn to third base, a configuration Murphy acknowledged was not ideal for defensive metrics. The manager highlighted the difficulty of balancing offensive production with defensive positioning when key players are unavailable.
