Netflix has announced that the second season of the animated series Blue Eye Samurai will be available to stream in January 2027. The network released the first trailer for the upcoming instalment, which ends with the release window announcement, although an exact date within the month has not yet been specified.

The announcement also confirmed that the series will be renewed for a third and final season. According to reports from IGN, Netflix described this as an “epic conclusion production announcement” to media reporters, signalling the end of the story arc.

Co-created by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, the show follows Mizu, a samurai who conceals her gender and mixed-race heritage while pursuing a personal quest for revenge. The first season concluded with the revelation that Mizu must travel to London, a treacherous journey by sea that is briefly depicted in the new trailer.

The timing of the second season’s release marks a significant wait for viewers, as the season was originally confirmed back in 2023.
