Bloomberg renders hint at major Siri overhaul in iOS 27
Leaked images from Bloomberg indicate Apple is preparing a significant redesign of its virtual assistant, featuring a new standalone application and deep integration with the Dynamic Island.

Bloomberg has published renders of iOS 27 that suggest a substantial redesign of Siri, pointing toward a user experience that closely mirrors the layout of ChatGPT. The visuals, which were based on information viewed by Bloomberg and individuals with knowledge of Apple’s plans, depict a new standalone Siri application alongside a chat interface that appears to be a central component of the upcoming operating system.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the renders indicate that users will be able to initiate conversations with Siri via the Dynamic Island or by performing a swipe-down gesture from the centre of the top edge of the display. This new chat bubble is shown as a pill-shaped interface that includes a drop-down menu offering options for 'Ask', 'Siri', and 'ChatGPT'. Gurman noted that this functionality is expected to work across iOS 27, allowing users to access the assistant regardless of the active application, a feature similar to how Android users can summon Gemini.
The proposed standalone Siri app is depicted with a layout that resembles ChatGPT’s chatbot interface. It features a pill-shaped query box, buttons for adding attachments and activating voice mode, and a section for chat history. The renders suggest that past conversations could be displayed either as a standard list or as a collection of rectangles, similar to the block-style note layout found in Google Keep.
Beyond the assistant itself, the Bloomberg visuals also provide a glimpse into updates for the Camera and Photos applications. The Camera app render shows a new 'Siri' option positioned between the 'Photo' and 'Portrait' modes, alongside a menu of widgets for customising controls. Similarly, the Photos app is shown with a new AI 'Tools' editing option, which would sit alongside the existing 'Clean Up' feature and reportedly include three new AI editing capabilities.
Apple is expected to officially unveil these changes at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is scheduled to begin on June 8. Gurman stated that the final designs may differ from the current renders, but the upcoming keynote is anticipated to spotlight the next round of updates to Apple’s operating systems and the broader rollout of Apple Intelligence features.
