Betting expert flags fatigue concerns for Wyndham Clark ahead of Travelers Championship
With Scottie Scheffler installed as the favourite at FanDuel Sportsbook, industry veteran points to scheduling congestion and market odds as indicators of Clark’s diminished prospects at TPC River Highlands.

Golf betting analyst Brady Kannon has advised against backing Wyndham Clark for the 2026 Travelers Championship, citing potential fatigue following the American’s recent major victory at Shinnecock Hills. Kannon, an elite handicapper with more than 30 years of experience in the industry, argues that Clark is unlikely to maintain a high competitive level immediately after winning the U.S. Open in May.
The 2026 Travelers Championship begins on Thursday at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. The par-70, 6,844-yard course will host a field that includes defending champion Keegan Bradley, who is priced at +5500 to repeat. Bradley won last year’s event by one stroke over Tommy Fleetwood and Russell Henley.
Kannon highlighted that Clark is currently listed at +3500 on FanDuel Sportsbook, a figure he believes does not accurately reflect the golfer’s current standing. He noted that if Clark’s recent form had not improved significantly, he would likely be priced at 40-1 or 50-1. Kannon suggested that oddsmakers and Clark himself recognise the difficult spot of competing at a major championship level in the week immediately following a major win.
The analyst pointed to full tournament head-to-head matchup offerings where Clark is a big underdog against Ludvig Åberg, Sam Burns, and Justin Thomas. Kannon stated he is fading Clark in both outright and head-to-head bets, questioning whether the golfer can dial in his game for four days of competition against the world’s best players so soon after his triumph in Southampton.
Scottie Scheffler is the favourite at FanDuel Sportsbook at +440. Other contenders expected to challenge include Tommy Fleetwood at +1600, Ludvig Åberg at +1800, and Xander Schauffele at +1800. Kannon, who has hit six PGA outright winners in 2025 including Harris English and Matt Fitzpatrick, has identified a gigantic longshot of higher than 55-1 with solid form and a game style that fits the course, though the specific golfer was not named in the source material.
