Nearly every Kindle is steeply discounted at Best Buy
E-reader discounts coincide with bundled deals on Google Pixel devices

Best Buy has initiated its Black Friday in July promotional event, applying significant price reductions across nearly the entire Amazon Kindle lineup. The retailer’s strategy targets both entry-level consumers and professional users, with the Kindle Paperwhite dropping to $124.99, a $35 reduction that marks the device’s lowest price point to date. This model remains a staple in the market due to its waterproof design, 300ppi display, and extended battery life.

For families and casual readers, the Kindle Kids model is priced at $99.99, representing a $30 discount. While sharing the standard hardware specifications, this edition includes a protective cover, an absence of advertisements, a two-year warranty, and a six-month subscription to Amazon Kids Plus. The pricing structure positions the device as a cost-effective option for households seeking durable digital reading solutions.

The promotion also highlights Amazon’s newer hardware innovations, specifically the Kindle Colorsoft and Scribe series. The standard Kindle Colorsoft, featuring a colour E Ink display with up to 150ppi resolution, starts at $159.99, down $90. A higher-specification Signature Edition with 32GB of storage and wireless charging is available for $219.99. These models cater to readers of graphic novels and comics who require colour reproduction on e-ink technology.

At the premium end of the spectrum, the Kindle Scribe and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft are discounted to $379.99 and $479.99 respectively. Both devices feature 11-inch displays and include styluses for note-taking and document annotation. The Scribe Colorsoft distinguishes itself as Amazon’s first colour note-taking e-reader, offering AI-powered tools to summarise text and refine handwriting, alongside an updated interface and slimmer design compared to previous iterations.

Beyond e-readers, Best Buy is running concurrent promotions for Google Pixel devices and Ring security cameras. A specific offer allows customers purchasing a refurbished Pixel 7 to receive a free Google Pixel Watch 2. The retailer is also discounting Ring Battery Doorbell 2K and Indoor Cam Plus units, broadening the scope of the mid-year sale beyond Amazon’s hardware ecosystem.
