Speaking in an interview with DAZN, the Bayern supervisory board member framed the suggestion as a future possibility contingent on Kompany leaving his position, rather than an immediate recruitment drive.
Hoeneß highlighted the resilience demonstrated by Sebastian Hoeneß during his tenure at VfB Stuttgart as the primary justification for considering him for the Munich role. He noted that Sebastian took charge of the Stuttgart squad while they were engaged in a relegation battle and managed the team despite the repeated sale of key players over recent years.
"I really take my hat off to him. What he has achieved at his club is remarkable," Hoeneß stated. He elaborated that Sebastian managed to pull the squad together and keep going even after their best players were sold, earning him the greatest respect from the Bayern boss apart from the current head coach.
Despite the high praise, Hoeneß emphasised that Vincent Kompany should remain in his role for another five to 10 years. He characterised Sebastian Hoeneß as "at least an option" for the future, but made it clear that there is no indication that Bayern has initiated any official recruitment process or that Sebastian has been formally approached regarding a move to Munich.
