Barcelona poised to submit formal bid for Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon
Reports indicate personal terms are agreed, though the proposed €70m offer falls significantly short of Newcastle United’s €92m valuation.

Barcelona are preparing to submit a formal bid for Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon, having reportedly agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old player. The Spanish club is attempting to secure the attacker from Newcastle, a move that comes as Bayern Munich had previously been in negotiations with the English side regarding the player.
According to multiple reports, the Blaugrana intend to complete the deal swiftly, aiming to finalise the transfer before other Premier League sides and Bayern Munich can react. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that personal terms are in place, while journalist Ben Jacobs noted that rough contract details are already agreed upon, reflecting Gordon’s interest in the move.
Financial disparities remain a significant hurdle in the negotiations. Reports suggest Barcelona may offer €70m, a figure that falls short of Newcastle United’s stated asking price of €92m. It remains unclear whether the Magpies would be willing to accept a bid significantly below their valuation, particularly given the player’s importance to their current squad structure.
Gordon has emerged as a focal point of the Newcastle attack this season, scoring 17 goals and providing five assists in 46 appearances. Following the departure of Alexander Isak last summer and the ongoing injury to Yoane Wissa, the 25-year-old has frequently operated as a centre-forward, a role that contrasts with his previous position as a left-sided winger.
The potential transfer is viewed as a strategic replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who is set to leave the club this summer. Although Gordon would likely occupy the position typically held by Raphinha, his recent form and versatility have impressed Barcelona, who first took note of the player during their Champions League ties against Newcastle in March.
