Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson said Tyson Bagent returned to practice on Saturday, keeping open the possibility that the backup quarterback could start against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3.

Bagent remains in concussion protocol and needs consecutive symptom-free days after practice to be cleared. The Bears have not confirmed who will start on Monday.

Caleb Williams, who has a hamstring injury, will not practise Saturday. That absence does not establish whether he will be available for the game.

Bagent suffered a concussion in Chicago’s Week 2 loss to Minnesota. He had entered the game after Williams was injured and completed five of nine passes for 54 yards.

Case Keenum remains another option if Bagent is not cleared or selected. The Bears’ decision depends on the players’ availability and what the coaching staff sees in practice.
