ASUS targets esports market with new portable OLED monitors
The new Ace collection features 24.5-inch panels with refresh rates up to 720Hz, marking the first time the brand has offered this form factor for competitive gaming.

ASUS has unveiled a new range of gaming monitors at Gamescom 2026, specifically engineered for the demands of esports players. The three new models, part of the company’s Ace collection, are built around 24.5-inch, high-refresh rate OLED panels. This represents a strategic shift for the manufacturer, which previously introduced 27-inch OLED gaming models at CES earlier this year, as these are the first Ace monitors offered in a more portable size.
The flagship of the new lineup is the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, which boasts a 720Hz refresh rate, the fastest among the new releases. It utilises a Tandem 1080p WOLED panel capable of reaching up to 1,700 nits of peak brightness and includes support for Dolby Vision to enhance HDR realism. The monitor also features a novel "Position Sensor" that measures height and tilt, displaying these statistics onscreen to help users replicate their ideal setup when travelling.
Alongside the flagship, ASUS is introducing two models based on QD-OLED technology: the ROG Strix OLED XG259QDPG Ace and the ROG Strix OLED XG259QDNS Ace. The XG259QDPG offers a 560Hz refresh rate, while the XG259QDNS provides a 360Hz refresh rate, which ASUS says allows for a more affordable price point. Both models incorporate the company’s "BlackShield" film and anti-glare coating, which ASUS claims improves perceived black levels by up to 40 percent while increasing panel hardness.
These new releases follow the ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace, which was originally showcased at Computex 2026. The Ace collection, which also includes an ergonomic mouse, is designed to offer improved colour performance and sharp motion clarity for fast-paced competitive games.
ASUS has confirmed that the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace and the previously announced ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace will be available in early Q4 2026. The flagship model is priced at $1,099, while the XG259QWPG Ace is set at $699.
No specific release window or price has yet been provided for the ROG Strix OLED XG259QDNS Ace, the most budget-friendly option in the new trio.
