Apple’s rumoured foldable iPhone may launch as iPhone Duo at US$2,000
The reported device may offer 256GB of storage, arrive as soon as October and support iPad-style multitasking, though Apple has confirmed none of the details.
Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone may be called the iPhone Duo and start at US$2,000 for a 256GB model, according to a report attributed to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
The device may ship as soon as October in white and dark blue, The Verge reported. “As soon as October” is an unconfirmed timeframe, and Apple has not announced a launch date.
Reported features include side-by-side iPhone apps, iPad-like multitasking and support for the Apple Pencil as a stylus. The claims have not been confirmed by Apple.
The reported Duo name would differ from the iPhone Ultra name previously associated with the foldable. It has also been used for Microsoft’s Surface Duo devices and Google’s messaging product.
The reported starting price would be higher than the US$1,899 prices cited for the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, but below the reported US$2,099.99 price of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Those comparisons, like the product details, remain unconfirmed.
