The truth lies in the past in Silo S3 trailer
Series returns July 2026 with dual timeline exploring origin of underground society

Apple TV+ has released the full trailer for the third season of Silo, the critically acclaimed dystopian series adapted from Hugh Howey’s novel trilogy. The upcoming season, which premieres on July 3, 2026, with weekly episodes airing every Friday through September 4, has already been renewed for a fourth and final season.

The new trailer confirms that protagonist Juliette Nichols, portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson, survives an incinerator incident but returns to Silo 18 suffering from significant memory loss. According to the official premise, she retains only memories "given" to her, though she experiences occasional "splinters of memories." The footage indicates she was in the "box of fire" for three minutes, with no sign of her colleague Holland, played by Tim Robbins, in the rescue sequence.

The season expands the narrative scope by introducing a dual timeline. Alongside the present-day struggles in Silo 18, the series explores an origin story set centuries earlier. This "Before Times" storyline follows journalist Helen Drew, played by Jessica Henwick, and US Congressman Daniel Keene, portrayed by Ashley Zukerman, as they uncover a conspiracy involving a dirty bomb dropped on Iran.

New cast members joining the production include Laura Innes, Jessica Brown Findlay, Morven Christie, Reed Birney, Matt Craven, and Colin Hanks. Returning cast members feature Steve Zahn as Jimmy Connor, known as "Solo," the sole survivor of the Silo 17 rebellion, alongside Common, Harriet Walter, and Avi Nash.

The trailer hints at escalating tension within the underground city, where recorded history spans only 140 years and the outside world is depicted as a toxic hellscape visible only on screens at the silo’s peak. A mysterious note urging "Don’t take the pills" appears in the footage, though it remains unclear if Juliette has heeded the advice. The season concludes its run with a fourth and final season following the 2026 premiere.
