Anthropic Targets Small Business Gap with New Claude Integration Suite
Anthropic has launched Claude for Small Business, a suite of connectors designed to embed AI into everyday enterprise tools, aiming to address security concerns and boost operational efficiency for smaller firms.
Anthropic has introduced Claude for Small Business, a dedicated package of connectors and workflows designed to integrate its artificial intelligence capabilities into platforms commonly used by small enterprises. The initiative targets a segment that accounts for 44% of US GDP and employs nearly half the private-sector workforce, yet has historically lagged in AI adoption compared to larger corporations. The new offering includes 15 ready-to-run agentic workflows and 15 skills aimed at automating routine tasks such as payroll planning, invoice chasing, and sales campaigns.
The software is designed to operate within the tools small business owners already utilise, including Intuit QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, DocuSign, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365. Through the Claude Cowork interface, users can approve actions before they are sent, posted, or paid, addressing a primary concern for many entrepreneurs. In a survey conducted by Anthropic, half of small business owners identified data security as their single biggest hesitation regarding AI adoption.
To mitigate these risks and improve digital literacy, Anthropic has partnered with PayPal to offer AI Fluency for Small Business, a free online course. The curriculum is taught by small business owners, including representatives from Prospect Butcher Co. and MAKS TIPM Rebuilders, providing step-by-step guidance on using AI safely and ethically. Amy Bonitatibus, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at PayPal, stated that the partnership aims to equip entrepreneurs with the trusted infrastructure needed to compete in the evolving digital economy.
Anthropic is also taking the initiative on the ground with a free, half-day live training tour starting on 14 May in ten US cities, including Chicago, Tulsa, Dallas, and San Jose. Hosted by Anthropic and partner Tenex.co, the workshops will provide attendees with a one-month Claude Max subscription. The tour follows a pilot concept tested in March with the Greater Cleveland Partnership and the National Talent Collaborative, with additional cities planned for the autumn.
Beyond direct software access, Anthropic is investing in partnerships to support the broader ecosystem. The company is collaborating with the Workday Foundation and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation to support the Workday Foundation Solopreneurship Accelerator Program, which will provide seed funding and AI credits to 15 aspiring solopreneurs in 2026. Additionally, Anthropic is working with three Community Development Financial Institutions—Accion Opportunity Fund, Community Reinvestment Fund USA, and Pacific Community Ventures—to help deploy AI in their operations, with Pacific Community Ventures using Claude to power its Radiant Data Hub for client feedback synthesis.
In parallel with the small business launch, Anthropic has raised usage limits and entered a new compute partnership with SpaceX to increase capacity. The company is also releasing ten new Cowork and Claude Code plugins, along with an MCP app for financial services and insurance organisations, further expanding the utility of its AI models across various sectors.
