Anthropic and TCS forge strategic alliance to accelerate enterprise AI adoption
The partnership marks a significant expansion for Anthropic in India, its second-largest market, as frontier AI firms secure distribution channels through major technology services providers.

Anthropic has entered into a strategic partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to accelerate the adoption of its artificial intelligence models within the enterprise sector. Under the agreement, TCS will establish a dedicated business unit specifically focused on deploying Anthropic’s AI solutions to its global customer base. The collaboration aims to develop tailored applications for critical industries, including financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, and aviation.
As part of the deal, TCS will receive early access to new Anthropic model releases, a move the firm states it will utilise to build internal expertise. The agreement also includes the deployment of Anthropic’s Claude AI assistant across TCS’s employee base, which comprises more than 50,000 staff members. This internal rollout is designed to enhance productivity and integrate generative capabilities into the firm’s daily operations.
The partnership extends beyond general enterprise deployments to specific TCS subsidiaries and platforms. Diligenta, TCS’s UK-based life and pensions subsidiary serving over 22 million customers, plans to implement Claude for customer service and process automation. Additionally, TCS iON, the company’s digital learning platform, will introduce training and certification programmes focused on Anthropic’s models to upskill its workforce.
TCS will also contribute specific capabilities to Anthropic’s Claude Code ecosystem, including tools designed for claims adjudication and lending advisory. This technical integration underscores the depth of the collaboration, moving beyond simple model access to co-developed industry-specific utilities. The agreement follows a similar partnership Anthropic announced earlier this year with Infosys, highlighting a broader trend of frontier AI companies securing enterprise distribution channels by partnering with major IT services firms in India.
Anthropic has been actively expanding its presence in India, describing the country as its second-largest market. Over the past year, the company has opened an office in the region, hired for leadership roles, and strengthened ties with major IT services firms. The deal arrives as the broader IT services sector in India, valued at $315 billion, faces scrutiny from investors and tech companies regarding its long-term viability amid the rise of AI. Shares of TCS and Infosys have declined by approximately 34% and 31%, respectively, this year.
