Anker debuts Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro earbuds with its Thus AI chip
New models feature bone conduction sensors and AI-driven noise separation for enhanced voice clarity

Anker has officially released the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max earbuds, marking the first consumer devices to utilise the company’s new 'Thus' AI chip. Announced last month during the Anker Day event, the hardware is designed to enhance voice clarity through advanced noise separation and bone conduction sensors. The Liberty 5 Pro is priced at $170, while the Liberty 5 Pro Max is priced at $230, with both models available for immediate purchase.

The Thus AI chip operates alongside eight microphones and two bone conduction sensors to isolate the user's voice from background interference. Anker states that the bone conduction technology allows the system to capture voice at lower volumes, provided the environment is in "moderately quieter settings." This silicon also powers 20 built-in voice commands, with the company claiming a response time of under one second for various controls and tasks.

Both models feature Adaptive ANC 4.0, which processes audio data at up to 384,000 times per second. The system continuously monitors external noise and sounds entering the ear canal to adjust cancellation in real time, with Anker claiming the algorithm is up to two times more effective than the previous Liberty 4 Pro. To customise audio output, the earbuds include HearID 5.0 for personalised equalisation and AI Sound Enhancement, which the company says can recover up to 65 percent of quality typically lost to Bluetooth compression.

The primary distinction between the two models lies in their charging cases. The Liberty 5 Pro is equipped with a 0.96-inch TFT touchscreen on the case's front edge, allowing users to adjust settings without opening the lid. The Liberty 5 Pro Max features a larger 1.78-inch AMOLED display and includes an AI Note-Taker function. This feature generates transcripts within the Soundcore app, identifying speakers and listing action items after meetings.

Connectivity and durability standards are consistent across both devices, which support Bluetooth 6.1, multipoint connectivity, Apple Find My, and Google Fast Pair. Both are rated IP55 for dust and water resistance and offer up to 6.5 hours of battery life with ANC enabled, extending to 28 hours total with the charging cases. The Liberty 5 Pro is available in black, blue, pink, and white, while the Liberty 5 Pro Max comes in black or gold.
