Angels hold off Rays late rally to secure 4-3 victory at Angel Stadium

The Los Angeles Angels maintained their composure to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 at Angel Stadium, securing a victory built on early offensive momentum and late defensive resilience. Despite the early deficit, the Rays’ pitching staff, led by Shane McClanahan, kept the game competitive. McClanahan struck out seven batters, though he allowed eight hits and one walk. The Rays began to chip away at the lead in the top of the fifth when Jonathan Aranda delivered a two-run single, reducing the Angels’ advantage to 4-2. However, the Angels’ bullpen held firm as Cedric Mullins, pinch-hitting for Ryan Vilade, struck out swinging, ending the Rays’ comeback attempt.
