Amazon shifts Prime Day 2026 to late June, launching early tech deals
Amazon confirmed Prime Day 2026 will run from 23 to 27 June, with early discounts on eero, Kindle, and Echo devices already available. Competitors Best Buy and Walmart are expected to offer concurrent sales.

Amazon has confirmed that Prime Day 2026 will take place from 23 June at 3:01 AM ET to 27 June at 3:01 AM ET, marking a significant departure from the retailer’s traditional July scheduling. The four-day event represents a strategic shift in the e-commerce giant’s calendar, with early deals on its own hardware products, including eero, Kindle, and Echo devices, already launched ahead of the official start date.
While Prime membership is not a prerequisite for purchasing items during the event, members retain access to exclusive sales, fast shipping, and other perks such as Prime Video. Non-members can still participate in the broader sales, though they will not benefit from the member-exclusive discounts or logistical advantages provided by the subscription service.
The retail landscape is expected to see heightened competition as other major players align their promotions with Amazon’s window. Competing retailers, including Best Buy and Walmart, are anticipated to run their own sales during this period, creating a crowded marketplace for consumer electronics and general merchandise.
To assist shoppers in navigating potential price fluctuations, WIIR released a guide on 2 June 2026 advising consumers to utilise price-tracking tools such as CamelCamelCamel and Keepa to verify the authenticity of discounts. The guidance emphasises that while Amazon hardware often sees significant price drops, other items may fluctuate, making historical price data essential for informed purchasing decisions.
In parallel with the retail announcements, The Verge is introducing new deal-tracking services to monitor the event. These include the 'Verge Shopping dispatch' newsletter, which provides regular roundups of good deals and reviews, and 'Verge Shopping Deal Alerts', a daily newsletter highlighting high-priority offers. The publication notes that further early deals are expected to emerge in the weeks leading up to the event, with ongoing coverage planned for both Amazon and competitor promotions.
