New co-op detective game launches alongside Prime Video season two

Amazon Luna is set to broaden its accessibility by integrating game streaming directly into the Prime Video application on Fire TV devices across the UK and US. This infrastructure update coincides with the release of Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles on 31 July 2026, a new exclusive title designed to leverage the concurrent launch of season two of the noir-inspired animated series on Prime Video.

The game functions as a cooperative adventure that prioritises investigative mechanics over traditional combat. Players are tasked with decoding evidence, pursuing leads, and confronting a roster of villains across 11 episodes. The narrative scope includes appearances by Scarecrow, Dollmaker, and Babyface, alongside the Joker, whose introduction in the game aligns with his debut in the second season of the television show.

Voice performances from the animated series’ cast are central to the experience. Matthew Needham, who portrays the Joker in the show, reprises the role for the game, while Hamish Linklater and Michelle C. Bonilla return as Batman and Detective Montoya respectively. The project is developed by Bruce Timm, the creator behind the original Batman: The Animated Series, positioning the new title as a spiritual successor to that legacy.

The integration of Luna into the Prime Video app allows users to transition seamlessly from viewing content to playing the game without switching applications. The service remains free for existing Prime subscribers, with access available via the Luna app on select LG and Samsung televisions or through web browsers. Additionally, the game supports smartphone controllers for mobile input.

This release follows the recent arrival of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, continuing Amazon’s strategy of expanding its gaming footprint alongside its entertainment content. The simultaneous launch of the game and the ten-episode second season of Batman: Caped Crusader underscores the company’s focus on bundled media experiences for its subscriber base.
