The scheduling landscape has intensified the stakes of this particular game. Neither SMU nor Louisville is scheduled to face the Miami Hurricanes during the regular season. Consequently, if either team is to dethrone Miami, the opportunity will likely present itself only in the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte. SMU enters the match with a 2-0 record, having defeated Florida State in Week 1 and UC Davis 56-10 in Week 2. Quarterback Kevin Jennings, who is the ACC active leader in career passing yards with 8,476, has continued to build his legacy.
