There’s actually a good deal happening now on the Xbox Series X
Retailer offers console with 1TB SSD and themed controller for $10 above current inflated price.

Best Buy is currently offering a specific Xbox Series X bundle that includes the console equipped with a 1TB SSD, a copy of Forza Horizon 6, and a limited edition wireless controller themed after the game. This package is priced at $10 more than the standard inflated retail price currently charged for the standalone console.

The inclusion of the limited edition controller is the primary driver for this specific offer, as the hardware is valued at approximately $180. According to the retailer's promotion, this particular controller is only available through this bundle and cannot be purchased separately.

Forza Horizon 6 is scheduled to launch on May 19. While consumers could access the game on its launch day by subscribing to Game Pass Ultimate, that method would not provide the free limited edition controller included in the Best Buy package.

The Xbox Series X has been selling for $649 since last October, representing a price point $150 higher than its original 2020 launch cost. Historically, the most favourable time to purchase the hardware was during its initial release or shortly thereafter, when prices occasionally dipped to around $350.

Since their debut, console prices have generally increased, with both the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 now selling for $150 more than their original launch prices. However, the article notes that finding discounts on the PlayStation 5 is reportedly easier than securing a deal on the Xbox Series X.

Despite the high cost, the bundle may appeal to those anticipating titles such as Grand Theft Auto 6, for which a console is required. The Verge reports that while the Xbox Series X has been difficult to recommend recently due to pricing, this specific bundle offers a marginally better value proposition for fans of the upcoming racing game.
