WiiM enters home theatre market with $479 WiiM Bar soundbar
Scheduled for July release, the new device expands the company’s ecosystem with a 3.0.2 configuration and expandable surround sound options.

WiiM has officially launched the WiiM Bar, marking its first entry into the home theatre speaker market. Priced at $479, the soundbar is scheduled for release in July and continues the company’s strategy of delivering high-quality audio components at accessible price points. The device represents an expansion of the brand’s whole-home audio ecosystem, which has previously focused on streamers and standalone speakers.
The soundbar utilises a 3.0.2 Dolby Atmos configuration, driven by eight speakers and four passive radiators. The driver array comprises three front mid-woofers, three front tweeters, and two up-firing full-range height drivers. It is compatible with both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats and includes features such as room correction, dialogue enhancement, and a night mode for dynamic range compression.
Connectivity options are comprehensive, featuring HDMI eARC, optical input, line in, Ethernet, and a configurable USB-A port that can function as audio in, audio out, or for media storage. The unit also supports a wide range of streaming services, including Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music Cast, Google Cast Audio, DLNA, and Roon, all accessible via the WiiM Home app.
A notable exclusion from the feature set is Apple AirPlay. This is consistent with WiiM’s policy since November 2023, when the company ceased AirPlay support across its product line, beginning with the WiiM Amp. The soundbar is designed to integrate into existing WiiM multi-room systems, allowing for seamless audio distribution alongside other compatible devices.
The physical design includes a 2.1-inch round touch display and illuminated capacitive buttons for volume, playback, and source switching. While the display provides volume levels, playback information, and album art, some reviewers have questioned its practical utility given typical soundbar placement. The package also includes a remote control for users who prefer physical controls over app-based management.
The WiiM Bar can be expanded to a 3.1.2 setup with the addition of the WiiM Sub Pro, priced at $449, or to a 5.1.2 surround configuration by adding two wireless Sound or Sound Lite speakers. Industry observers anticipate that the Bar is the beginning of a broader product line, with a potential step-up option expected later this year or early next year, following the company’s historical release patterns.
