Samsung foldables leak ahead of July launch: Z Fold 8 gets wider display and new processor
Leaked images and hardware details reveal a redesigned form factor for the Z Fold 8, a 200MP sensor for the Ultra model, and unchanged camera specs for the Z Flip 8.
Images and specifications for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8, and Z Fold 8 Ultra have been leaked by tipster Evan Blass, just days before the company’s scheduled launch event on 22 July 2026. The leak provides a clear view of the hardware changes expected in Samsung’s latest foldable lineup, including a redesigned, shorter, and wider form factor for the standard Z Fold 8.
The leaked specifications indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor. The device is reported to feature a 50MP wide and a 50MP ultra-wide rear camera system, with 10MP selfie cameras located on both the inner and outer screens. Samsung has advertised the battery life of the Z Fold 8 as offering up to 26 hours of video playback.
For the mid-range foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is reported to include a 4,300mAh battery. The camera configuration mirrors the current Z Flip 7, featuring a 10MP main screen camera and a 50MP wide with 12MP ultra-wide cover screen camera. This suggests an incremental update to the camera hardware for the flip-style device.
The high-end Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra boasts a larger 5,000mAh battery, which Samsung claims will deliver up to 27 hours of video playback. The Ultra model is expected to feature a triple rear camera system comprising a 50MP ultra-wide, a 200MP wide sensor, and a 10MP telephoto lens. It also includes 10MP cameras for both the cover and main screens.
The leaked images align with glimpses shown in a Spider-Man teaser released by Samsung earlier in the week, reinforcing the accuracy of the design changes. These details offer investors and consumers a preview of the hardware that will be officially announced at the event on 22 July 2026.
