REI 2026 Anniversary Sale Launches with Up to 30 Percent Off Outdoor Gear
Outdoor retailer REI has opened its biggest sale of the year, offering significant discounts on camping equipment, electronics, and apparel, with additional savings for Co-op members.

Outdoor retailer REI has launched its 2026 Anniversary Sale, running from May 15 to May 25, 2026. The event represents the retailer’s largest discount period of the year, with prices reduced by up to 30 percent across a wide range of outdoor gear, including tents, sleeping bags, and camping stoves. The sale period concludes just before the Memorial Day holiday in the United States.
REI Co-op members are eligible for additional savings during the promotion. By applying the promo code ANNIV26 at checkout, members receive an extra 20 percent off full-price items and a further 20 percent discount on items in the REI Outlet. This layered discount structure applies to the broader inventory of outdoor equipment and apparel available through the retailer.
Technology publication WIRED has published a curated selection of deals available during the sale, highlighting specific models from manufacturers including Goal Zero, Garmin, Coleman, Silky, Petzl, Big Agnes, Nemo, and Exped. The recommendations cover essential summer activities, ranging from power stations and satellite communicators to cooking equipment and shelter systems.
Among the highlighted electronics, the Goal Zero Yeti 1500 power station is noted for its LiFePO4 battery chemistry, which is rated for 4,000 charge cycles. The unit features a 30-amp output suitable for van and overlanding setups, alongside four AC outlets and USB charging capabilities. Garmin is also featured with the inReach Mini 3 satellite messenger, which adds voice and photo messaging to its emergency features, while the Garmin Instinct Solar watch is recommended for its solar charging and rugged durability.
Camping and shelter options include the Coleman Cascade 3-in-1 stove, which features cast iron grates and accommodates two pans simultaneously. For shelter, WIRED points to REI’s Base Camp tent as a top choice for car camping due to its weatherproof design and storage capacity. The REI Half Dome 2 is identified as a strong budget option for backpacking, while ultralight alternatives from Big Agnes and Nemo are also on sale for more technical trips.
