Fortnite players get a 10-minute sneak peek of The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 19
In-game Watch Party Island unlocks 10-minute sneak peek ahead of theatrical release

Epic Games has announced a promotional partnership with Disney and Lucasfilm to host a special Watch Party Island within Fortnite ahead of the theatrical release of The Mandalorian and Grogu. The event is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET, allowing players to engage with the Star Wars franchise three days before the film hits cinemas.

Developed in collaboration with Fairview Portals and Beyond Creative, the in-game experience tasks participants with completing specific activities within the Nevarro map. Players are recruited as a Deputy to collect bounties, defend the city from enemy waves, and locate Grogu. According to the Fortnite team, spending approximately 20 minutes exploring the map will unlock the movie content and an exclusive Mandalorian Sanctuary loading screen.

Upon completion of these activities, participants will gain access to a 10-minute sneak peek of the film and receive a message from director Jon Favreau. The event serves as a bridge between the popular battle royale title and the upcoming cinematic release, leveraging the game’s Creative mode to drive engagement for the broader media property.

The Mandalorian and Grogu continues the narrative established in the Disney+ series of the same name. The film stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin and introduces new cast members, including Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta, the son of Jabba the Hutt.

The theatrical release of The Mandalorian and Grogu is scheduled for Friday, May 22, 2026. This promotional initiative highlights the growing intersection between interactive gaming platforms and traditional film marketing, offering early access to content for a dedicated player base.
