Betts launches LGND glove venture as Dodgers tenure surpasses Red Sox era
Mookie Betts has co-founded LGND, a baseball glove company developed with high school friends, coinciding with his longest tenure with the Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts has officially launched a new baseball glove company named LGND, a move that coincides with a significant career milestone. The launch marks the point at which Betts has played more games for the Dodgers than for his former team, the Boston Red Sox, solidifying his status as a Dodger for longer than his previous tenure in Boston.
The venture is co-founded by Betts alongside three lifelong friends from high school in the Nashville area: Cameron Lewis, Brandon McPhail, and Andrew Montgomery. The partners have developed the brand to focus on versatility, craftsmanship, and what Betts describes as player-first innovation.
LGND currently offers two distinct glove collections. The MOOK series is inspired by Betts’ experience playing both infield and outfield positions. This line features game-worn colourways, a “50 Tri-Star” logo embroidered on the thumb, and Betts’ signature stamped in the palm. The second offering, the MVRK series, is designed for multi-position players and features distinct styling.
In a statement regarding the launch, Betts emphasised the importance of equipment in performance. “Every detail matters when you’re on the field, and your glove is one of the most important tools you have,” Betts said. “I started this with the intention to build something that reflected the way I play the game, which is with passion, preparation and attention to detail.”
The business launch occurs alongside broader analysis of the Dodgers’ prospects for the second half of the season. Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic has published commentary questioning whether the team will reach full strength, how they will manage Shohei Ohtani’s role, and potential moves at the trade deadline. These discussions highlight the critical nature of player health and star performance for the club’s future success.
Steve Henson of the L.A. Times has reported on the pricing details of the new gloves. Across his career with both the Red Sox and the Dodgers, Betts has amassed six Gold Gloves, a record of excellence he aims to reflect in the quality of the LGND brand.
