Persona 6 is coming with graveyard visuals and a toxic green color scheme
Next mainline entry in long-running RPG franchise arrives on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S

Atlus has officially confirmed the development of Persona 6, marking the return of the franchise’s next mainline entry after a significant hiatus. The announcement was delivered during the Xbox Summer Game Fest showcase, establishing the title as the first all-new mainline instalment in the series since 2017.

The game is confirmed for release across PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X/S. While the platforms have been identified, Atlus has not yet disclosed an exact launch date for the title.

A teaser trailer accompanied the confirmation, presenting a distinct shift in visual tone compared to previous entries. The video features a slow, monochromatic pan over a field of densely packed gravestones during a rainstorm, concluding at the base of a looming, statuesque headstone. The imagery is underscored by a toxic green colour palette and a creepy soundtrack, suggesting a gothic and eerie atmosphere.

According to the Xbox store listing and trailer description, the game promises a bold, new standalone story. The official text states the title will blend heartfelt daily life with pulse-pounding, supernatural adventure, introducing new characters while maintaining the series' established formula of balancing school life, friendships and dungeon crawling.

Atlus noted that the narrative is designed to be accessible to both new players and long-time fans. However, specific plot details, character names and gameplay mechanics remain undisclosed, with the studio relying on the atmospheric clues provided in the initial teaser to generate anticipation.
