Apple iPad Air M4 sees first discount of $100 as Amazon cuts prices
The 11-inch and 13-inch M4-powered models are now available at reduced rates on Amazon, with the larger variant hitting a fresh low of $699.

Apple’s M4-powered iPad Air has been discounted for the first time since its release, with prices reduced by up to $100 across key configurations. The 11-inch model featuring 128GB of storage and Wi-Fi connectivity is now priced at $519.99 on Amazon, representing a $79 reduction from its standard retail cost. Meanwhile, the base 13-inch model has dropped to a new low of $699, marking a $100 decrease.
The price adjustment positions the iPad Air as a compelling midrange option within Apple’s ecosystem. It delivers significantly more processing power than the entry-level iPad, driven by the M4 processor and an increase to 12GB of RAM. However, it remains distinct from the premium iPad Pro line, which offers higher raw performance and a thinner chassis, albeit at a substantially higher price point.
Beyond the hardware specifications, the device supports Apple Intelligence and is compatible with the latest Apple Pencil Pro. It also incorporates the N1 wireless networking chip, enabling Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity. Additionally, the tablet supports the Thread protocol, allowing for direct control of compatible smart home devices such as lights and locks.
This discount stands in contrast to wider trends in the consumer technology sector, where prices have generally risen due to shortages in RAM and storage components since late 2025. Competitors in the handheld gaming and tablet space, including the Steam Deck, Asus ROG Xbox Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go 2, have seen price increases or maintained higher price points during this period.
The move comes against a backdrop of strong performance in the US technology sector, where AI-related stocks and major players like Apple and Amazon have contributed to recent record highs in market indices. While the duration of this Amazon offer has not been specified, the reduction provides a more accessible entry point for consumers seeking a balance between performance and cost.
