Amazon MGM Studios unveils final trailer for Masters of the Universe reboot
The studio has released the last promotional clip for the Mattel franchise film, highlighting 1980s nostalgia and a star-studded cast including Nicholas Galitzine and Jared Leto.

Amazon MGM Studios has released the final trailer for its upcoming live-action film Masters of the Universe, directed by Travis Knight. The studio positioned the clip as a definitive look at the reboot ahead of the film’s theatrical debut on June 5, 2026. The trailer emphasises 1980s nostalgia, opening with vintage footage from the original animated series before transitioning into the modern narrative.
The film serves as a reboot of the He-Man and Masters of the Universe series, along with its spinoff She-Ra: Princess of Powers and other offshoots of the Mattel franchise. The plot follows Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, who was separated from his home planet Eternia for 15 years after crash-landing on Earth as a child. Now living as an office drone with a passion for nerd culture, Adam searches for his magic sword to return home and defeat Skeletor, who currently rules Eternia.
Jared Leto portrays the villain Skeletor, while the supporting cast includes Camila Mendes as Teela and Idris Elba as Duncan, also known as Man-At-Arms. Additional roles are filled by Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, and Kristen Wiig as Roboto. The ensemble also features James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley as King Randor and Queen Marlena, alongside Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Goat Man.
The narrative premise establishes that Adam’s mother, Queen Marlena, an ex-astronaut, sent him to Earth for protection from Skeletor’s forces. The film’s official synopsis states that the Sword of Power leads Adam back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the villain’s rule. To save his family and world, Adam must embrace his destiny as He-Man, described in the material as the most powerful man in the universe.
This release follows two previous trailers, with the first dropping in January to establish the origin story and the second in March focusing on the return to Eternia. The final trailer highlights key moments such as Adam grasping the sword and declaring his power, while also featuring cameos from characters including Mekaneck, Ram-Man, and Fisto. The film is scheduled to hit cinemas on June 5, 2026.
