YouTube used its annual Made by YouTube event to outline a broad set of product changes, including AI-generated custom feeds, new shopping functions and updates for creators and subscribers. The announcements, reported by Engadget, include features at different stages: voice comments on supported TVs are available now, while several others have tentative launch windows.

Custom feeds built from conversational AI prompts are expected soon for users in the US across web, mobile and TV. YouTube says users will be able to create feeds around interests or moods. Creators can also arrange Shorts into episodes, with custom thumbnails and sequential playback.

Searchable GIF comments are planned for the YouTube mobile app globally this fall. On supported TVs, users can already post comments by voice through a text-to-speech tool.

Ask YouTube is set to add shopping recommendations, product comparison tables and follow-up questions about items shown in videos, including products that are not mentioned aloud. YouTube also plans to let users continue a conversation from search into the video player.

For YouTube Music and Premium subscribers globally, upcoming changes include Ask Music updates and Podcast Lineup, a weekly preview of suggested podcasts. YouTube also said it had extended its exclusive Coachella streaming rights through 2030 and plans to pilot live auto-dubbing in early 2027, initially for English and Spanish.
