Lhuan-dre Pretorius scored an unbeaten 188 from 79 deliveries for the Titans against the Knights in Bloemfontein, setting what Al Jazeera reported as the highest individual score in a men’s T20 match.

The 20-year-old left-hander opened the batting in his first Titans appearance of the season. He passed Chris Gayle’s previous mark of 175, scored for Bengaluru in the 2013 Indian Premier League.

Pretorius reached 50 from 24 balls and brought up his century 16 deliveries later. He hit 13 sixes and 14 fours, according to Al Jazeera’s account.

The Titans finished on 267-3, with Sinethemba Qeshile the next-highest scorer on 14. They then bowled out the Knights for 143 to win by 124 runs.

Pretorius had scored 226 runs in a three-nation series in Namibia in September, tied with Dewald Brevis for the most in that series. The Titans’ total was the second-highest in the competition, behind their 271 in 2022.
