Two men remanded over alleged plot targeting Manchester Jewish sites
Prosecutors allege the pair carried out reconnaissance and planned to make a homemade explosive device. Police say there is no ongoing public threat.

Two Iranian nationals charged over an alleged plot targeting Jewish sites in Manchester were remanded in custody by Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday. Deutsche Welle reported that Rahman S., 34, and Salam A., 36, did not enter pleas.
Prosecutors allege the men conducted reconnaissance and planned to make a homemade explosive device. They identified the Manchester Jewish Museum and Heaton Park synagogue as potential targets.
The men were detained on 20 September, the eve of Yom Kippur. The allegations have not been tested in court.
Counter-terrorism police said they believed the alleged plot was isolated and that there was no ongoing public threat. Police also said the Manchester case was unrelated to a separate suspected plot at RAF Fairford.
The pair are due to appear at the Old Bailey on 23 October.
