YouTube has announced a suite of AI and analytics updates for its Studio app, aiming to help creators plan videos and assess how they perform. The company unveiled the tools at its Made on YouTube event.

Ask Studio, YouTube’s AI-powered question-and-answer feature, is expanding to iOS and Android. Another tool will review unpublished videos and suggest changes to pacing, structure and storytelling. A new research feed will show creators what kinds of content are performing on the platform.

Creators will be able to generate titles and thumbnails based on a video’s content and tailored to their style. A dynamic thumbnail feature will produce three options for testing with different audience segments.

YouTube says creators have run more than 40 million A/B tests on titles and thumbnails through its existing feature. The company plans to add testing for up to three video cuts, to compare opening hooks, and automatic thumbnail performance monitoring later this year.

Updated analytics will explain why videos perform as they do and offer advice on improving engagement. YouTube did not specify launch dates for most of the announced tools.
